KKS Challenge #89 Clean and Simple

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps challenge is to make a card with no embellishments!! Clean and simple...aka difficult and stressful. lol Just teasing.
I actually quite enjoyed this challenge. I do love embellishments and  I rarely make a card without them, but it was nice to change it up a bit.

So I decided to use Dolly the Dolphin. I coloured her in with many shades of teals using my copic markers. Cut her out with my Lacey loopy spellbinders and inked it with SU Soft sky ink before removing it from the die. Finished it off by adding some waves using a Fiskars border punch.

Be sure to pop over to the KKS Challenge blog to see how the other Krafty girls struggled...lol  ;)

Cute Card Thursday

Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps is happy to be sponsoring Cute Card Thursday this week, and here is the sketch we had to work with.

I chose to use Sunny the turtle this week. I like his idea of just lounging in the water on a nice sunny day. Coloured him with my copics and added a bit of pan pastels to the water and some SU ink to create the clouds using a homemade cloud stencil.

Pop on over to the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog for some more inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

KKS Challenge #88

This weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge is a sketch from my fellow krafty girl Tara.
I used Elaine from our latest release of travel girls. I had picked up this paper from Micheal's as it suited the theme perfectly.

I cut Elaine out using my spellbinders and inked around the edges before removing it from the die. I added a lace edge using my Fiskar's border punch. Tore along the bottom edge and inked it with some Tim Holtz distress ink. Finished it off by adding some chocolate ribbon, baker's twine, a few pearls and a button.

Check out what some of the other Krafty Gals came up with this week, over at our KKSChallenge Blog.

KKS Challenge #87- Finish the inside of your card

Welcome back to day three of Kraftin' Kimmies Stamps sneak peaks and it's challenge day...AND what a challenge it is.  I never, never... until the card is going to be given to someone, finish the inside of my cards. lol :)
Not that's it's really much of a challenge, it's more just laziness! But really I should because you have all these bits of scraps lying around on your craft desk that coordinate with your card... you might as well just do something with the inside. Even if it's just keeping it blank until it's given to that special someone. Right?!! That will be my new goal..we'll see how long I last. ;) lol

Anyway, today we are featuring our last artist, Annie. For this month's release Annie has created these wonderful Travel Girls. I used Cleo for the challenge. Found some great papers at Micheal's to go with this release and some cute brads from Hobby Lobby.

and now the inside...

and a bonus one just for fun...but I didn't finish the inside :( Surprise, Surprise. hahaha.

Be sure to stop by the KKS Challenge blog and leave some love along the way for the chance to win some of Annie's Travel Girls.

Thanks for stopping by.

Day three of KKS sneek peeks...

Hello again my Krafty friends. You're back to see more of KKS latest release. Well they just keep getting better and better. Today the spotlight is on Cheryl and her three back to school images...so friggin cute!!

Meet Mattie, I thought he would make a good bookmark. Those are just a handful of my daughter's books in the background so it's good to have lots of  bookmarks on hand.
I stamped Mattie onto Kraft cardstock and coloured him in with some prisma pencil crayons. I've only coloured this way twice so it's still a technique in the works. But I thought I'd share with you how it turned out.

I also wanted to share with you this card I made using Katie. I just love this lil cutie. I colored her using my copics and the papers on both my creations today are from a DCWV Grade School Stack. Katie also comes with the sentiment "Learning is Fun!" that I added a few school themed brads to.

Now if you head over to the KKStamps Challenge Blog, there's a list of all the Krafty peeps who have peeks to share and be sure to leave comments at each one, because every day Kraftin' Kimmie will be giving away prizes to a lucky random commenter.

Thanks for stopping by.

Kraftin Kimmie Sneak Peeks Day two...

Welcome back to day two of Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps sneak peaks. Today we are featuring Emilie's images. I used Speedy the turtle with some fun bright SU papers a few buttons and some ribbon.

For my second card meet the Partridge family. Some crazy bright papers on this one. I got them from a friend so I'm not sure what company they are from but aren't they wild?! Great papers for this fun singing trio.

Check out what else Emilie created this month at KKSChallenge Blog.

And again if you leave comments along the way you could have the chance to win some new rubber.

July Sneak Peaks Day One...

Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps is excited to share a sneak peak of this month's release starting with a set of heart felt Sympathy Quotes. I stamped this "May Your Memories Be Your Comfort" onto this beautiful embossed card that I picked up from the dollar store. I just added a few pearls to it and a couple of butterflies that I made using my Martha Stewart punch. Simple but elegant.

This Sympathy set comes with a total of eight quotes and a beautiful flower stamp, and you could have the chance to win one by just leaving a comment...and the more comments you leave on my fellow Krafty Girls blogs, the more chances you have on winning. The winner will be announced the following day on the  KKS challenge blog. And that's where you can head to now if you'd like to see more sneak peaks.

Thanks for stopping by.

KKS Challenge #86, Tag you're It!

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge was Tag You're it. So either make a tag or use a tag on your card, something involveing a tag. So I knew I had a coluzzle template with a variety of tags on it so I used that. I coloured  Lilybelle, she's one of my favourite fairies. I used some paper from the Prima Melody collection, I thought the soft colours suited Lilybelle. To finish it off I added a prima flower and some bling flourishes that I got from Dollarama.

Tag you're it!! Hop on over to the KKS Challenge blog to see what the rest of the Krafty Girls whopped up for this weeks challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. :) Have a great weekend.

KKS Challenge #85 - Material Girl

This weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge is to use fabric/material on your card. Well I'll be honest I was a bit stumped. I struggled a bit with this one. Ya sure, there's an easy out and use a satin flower or an embellishment that is already made with fabric...but I wanted to be more creative then that. So I thought, and thought...what can I use??

I tried covering a brad using my I topper with some fake leather material...well that was unsuccessful!! No encouragement from my eldest daughter either. She's standing next to me watching me struggle with this thing saying "Mommy...I don"t think that's gonna work." Helpful isn't she. lol

So I tossed that idea literally in the trash. Then I thought maybe I could make the flowers using a sizzix die. SUCCESS!!! So there you have it. Phew, glad that's over. Thanks Melanie for that one. ;)

I thought Joanie would be most appropriate with some "leather" on her card. The paper is from Bobunny, bright fun colours. The lacy looking stuff I got a loooong time ago at Scrapfest it kinda reminded me of fish nets. :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop over to the KKSChallenge Blog to see what the rest of the  Krafty Girls came up with.
